Following the handgun ban in 1997,
the club decided to set up an archery section with the assistance of an experienced local archery coach.

The section is open to adults and juniors from age 9 years.

Members of this expanding section participate in internal archery ladders through to National team competitions over distances of 20 metres indoors and distances of 40 –60 metres outdoors.

Members pay a subscription to join the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS) who organise many of the competitions and provide magazines, coaching and club insurance.

Archery is a sport for all people!

Men, women and juniors from all sections of the community
are encouraged by GNAS to participate at all levels in the sport including shooting, administration, coaching, judging, competition and also representing Great Britain at International events such as the Olympic Games.

The club will consider providing financial assistance to members who wish to attend GNAS coaching courses.
